Everything you need to know about trucks in Farming Simulator 19

Everything you need to know about trucks in Farming Simulator 19

There are three major brands of trucks in Farming Simulator 19. They are the Ursus brand, Pumas, and Horschs. Each of these truck brands play a unique role in how you approach your farm.

Choosing one truck over another can mean the difference between getting an entire field harvested on time or having to leave half of it to rot. While they can all be used for their standard purposes, each truck has a unique set of work tools designed specifically for certain uses.

For example, if you want to level ground or clear an area out before you build a new structure, the Ursus T-22 Light is designed just for that sort of work. If you’re looking to harvest wheat or transport hay bales, the Pumas XA is designed with those tasks in mind.

What is a Truck & Why You Need One in Farming Simulator

First things first, what is a truck? A vehicle designed to haul cargo. In Farming Simulator 19, it’s your main mode of transportation from field to lot and everything in between.

Trucks can be used to transport harvested crops directly from the field to the silo or barn. They can also transport feed for livestock back to their respective buildings.

Trucks are also the only vehicles in Farming Simulator 19 that can be fitted with equipment specifically designed to perform certain tasks, such as leveling ground for a new building site or harvesting crops.

What Makes Each Brand of Truck Different

Each truck brand has their own unique design and cab. For example, the Horsch truck brands all feature extended cabs that can seat 2 additional passengers on either side of the driver; which is useful for transporting workers around your farm. This makes them different than the standard Ursus trucks with their traditional truck cab.

Each truck also has a unique appearance based on it’s brand, including headlights, taillights, grill designs, and more.

How to Get Trucks in Farming Simulator 19

Trucks are unlocked in the game through your farmer profile. You can access this screen by pressing “C” on your keyboard. Once you have a profile selected, simply choose to purchase a new vehicle and select a truck brand.

As with most things in Farming Simulator 19, the cost of a truck is not fixed across all brands and models. You can expect to pay anywhere between $180K-$320K for most standard trucks in the game.

What is the Difference Between Standard & Farm Edition Trucks?

Trucks come in two different varieties; standard and farm edition.  Standard trucks are available immediately, while farm edition must  be built by acquiring parts. Farm edition trucks are built exactly the same as standard; you simply need to acquire all of the vehicle parts before they will be available for purchase.

Both versions of a truck perform the same and can do everything that each other version can, but farm edition versions can be upgraded to feature better overall performance and do not require insurance because you cannot blow them up.

How to Upgrade a Truck in Farming Simulator 19

In order to upgrade a standard version truck, you need the vehicle and all required parts for it’s particular modification. For example, if you want to upgrade your Pumas XA, you need:  the Pumas XA itself and all of the wheels required to upgrade it.  It would also help to have the engine, transmission, and cab parts as well.

Once you have all of these items, simply select your truck in the vehicle selection menu and press right on the D-Pad to open up the mod menu. From here you can purchase any upgrades that are available for your truck, provided you have all of the required items.

Conclusion

Trucks are an absolute necessity if you’re looking to get the most out of your farm. Whether it be transporting crops and livestock or just simply transporting workers around, they’re a must-have for any Farming Simulator 19 player.

To unlock and purchase trucks in Farming Simulator 19, all you need to do is build a farmer profile. Once you have one, simply purchase any truck brand you please and you’re good to go!

As with most things in FS19, trucks can be upgraded with better components to allow for improved performance.
